BounceMH

For schools

Classroom environment with students using technology for learning

This page covers the practical side of bringing BounceMH into a school. The rollout process, the training, the pricing, and what to expect in the first term. If you're a DSL, SLT member, or business manager evaluating the platform, this is the right starting point.

Rollout process

  1. 30-minute demo call. We walk through the platform with example data. We use this to understand what your school already measures, where the gaps are, and whether we're a fit. No pricing pressure on the call.
  2. Procurement and contract signing. We send the data-processor agreement and procurement paperwork. Schools using DfE Cloud Services framework procurement can reference our framework registration. Sign-off typically takes 1–3 weeks.
  3. MIS integration setup. Our team works with your IT lead (or MAT IT team) to set up pupil-roster sync with SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom. Typically 2–5 days of intermittent IT contact.
  4. Configuration session. A 60-minute session with the DSL to configure which surveys to deploy, what thresholds to flag on, who has which level of access, and how the safeguarding case-management integration should work.
  5. Staff training session. A 90-minute training for DSL + pastoral leads + relevant SLT, plus a 30-minute lighter session for teachers who'll be administering surveys. We can run training remotely or in person.
  6. First survey deployment. Usually a whole-school baseline survey 2–3 weeks after staff training. The data starts flowing into the dashboard from that point.
  7. Termly review sessions. 30-minute check-ins each term to review usage, surface any platform features the school isn't using, and answer questions.

What to expect in the first term

The first term is mostly establishing baseline data and getting the team used to the dashboard. Concrete milestones:

By the end of the first term, your DSL should have a working sense of your school's wellbeing baseline and be using the safeguarding dashboard at least weekly.

Pricing tiers

Pricing is per-pupil per year, with tiers based on school size. All tiers include the full platform — surveys, dashboard, reporting, MIS integration, training, and termly check-ins. There are no additional per-feature charges.

Primary up to 200 pupils

Small primary tier — £1.80 per pupil per year

The most-subscribed tier. Suitable for small village and community primary schools. Includes all features; volume-discounted because the per-school admin overhead is the same regardless of pupil count.

Primary or secondary 200–800 pupils

Standard tier — £1.40 per pupil per year

Most primaries above 200 pupils and most secondary schools fall into this tier. The most flexible tier; most feature requests are satisfied at this level.

Large schools / academies 800–2,000 pupils

Large school tier — £1.10 per pupil per year

Larger secondaries and academies. Includes additional dashboard configurations for multiple-DSL setups (head, deputy-head DSLs, year-group safeguarding leads).

MATs and federations

MAT tier — custom pricing

For Multi-Academy Trusts and school federations. Includes MAT-wide reporting (aggregated trust-level data while maintaining school-level data sovereignty), centralised procurement, and dedicated account management. Most MATs land between 75p and 95p per pupil per year.

Common questions

Do we need parental consent to deploy surveys? For wellbeing surveys covered by your school's standard data protection notice, no separate consent is typically needed, but consult your school's data protection officer to confirm based on your specific privacy notice wording.

Can we use BounceMH for whole-school surveys but not individual flagging? Yes — flagging thresholds are entirely configurable. Some schools choose to start with whole-school trend monitoring only and add individual flagging in year two.

What happens to data when we leave? All school data is exportable in standard formats. Per our data processor agreement, we delete all data within 30 days of contract termination unless you request earlier deletion.

Is BounceMH suitable for SEND schools / SEMH provision? Yes — several SEND and SEMH-specific schools subscribe. Surveys can be adapted for cognitive accessibility; the trauma-informed scale library on our roadmap is partly driven by this customer segment.
